Of Stains and Jokesters


I noticed Saturday that one of the wooden doors at the Lesmeister Guesthouse had some stain on it (see below). Since only half the door is stained, and I know my painter is not crazy, I’m guessing that he’s experimenting on a door that will eventually be painted (it’s inside a bathroom). He’s working to get the stain on the pine doors to match the stain on the cypress door and window trim and baseboards. Getting the stains to match when you’re using different woods is a challenge.

Also see photos below where someone has rearranged the little glued-on pads on the new storefront window glass, creating smiley faces and such. We’ll assume they did that on their own time ;-)
