Rare Sighting…


Everybody knows the stereotype of construction workers: three standing there, leaning on shovels and watching one guy work. So I had to snap a photo this morning when four shovels were going at the same time!

They were spreading gravel fill within a newly constructed retaining wall behind the Lesmeister building. By this afternoon they had the gravel compacted and had marked locations for the seven stone columns that will support the rear deck.

If you zoom in on the photo below you can see the new “all-thread’ bolts projecting from the brick under the 2nd floor door and under the upper windows. This is where they will soon attach the rear deck to the building.
