Nancy Jones Suite (Coming Soon)

Coming available in early 2023, the Nancy Jones junior suite is named for one of the most remarkable women in Pocahontas history. She and her husband, William Alliare, built the adjacent St. Charles Hotel in 1850. After William died in 1857, Nancy remarried and, in 1859, as Nancy Evans, she built the St. Charles Hotel Annex that houses the Nancy Jones suite today (yes, she married a third time, to Green R. Jones, after her second husband, Evans, was killed during the Civil War). Nancy continued to run the hotel until her retirement around 1900. The suite, on the second floor of the St. Charles building, has a great view of the 1872 courthouse and the town square. Free public parking is available all around the square..

The living/sleeping area includes:

  • For ambiance, we furnish a wood stove-look gas stove, but the suite also has it’s own heating and air conditioning system separate from the rest of the building.
  • Free Wi-Fi and a flat screen cable television.
  • Two comfortable reclining chairs.
  • A desk large enough to get some work done, if you must.
  • A yoga mat, an exercise ball, and a foam roller cylinder.
  • A small refrigerator, microwave oven, Keurig coffee maker, and ice maker.
  • A king sized bed with high thread count sheets, both firm and soft pillows, and comforter.
    • We can add a quite comfortable inflatable mattress with sheets, blankets and pillows, to accommodate a 3rd or even 4th person, if you’d like. Be aware that the inflatable mattress is positioned on the floor, so it’s not suitable for someone who would have trouble getting out of the floor. There’s an extra charge, per day, to have more than 2 people in the suite.
    • A king sized bed is 76 inches wide × 80 inches long (1.93 meters wide x 2.03 meters long)
  • Luxury bathrobes for your use, and slippers.
  • Since some people enjoy going to sleep while listening to soothing sounds, the bedroom includes a “white noise machine” you can use if you wish, to produce the sound of rain or a waterfall or forest sounds. And, while Pocahontas is definitely a “sleepy little town”, if you want to sleep late some mornings, the white noise machine can easily cover up any undesired neighborhood sounds.

In the bathroom you’ll find:

  • A roomy shower.
  • Flat screen TV
  • Lighted magnifying makeup mirror
  • Hair dryer
  • Towel warmer
  • Toilet with heated seat/Bidet with warmed water.
  • Enjoy oversized Turkish cotton towels.
  • Iron and ironing board.
