Some Painting!

The painter has the first coat of paint on the ceiling of the Lesmeister Guesthouse. It’s the same rich cream color that’s being used on the front porch. Yesterday he also painted an area of the wall so the architect could evaluate the color of green he picked for the walls. It’s very close to the color that was on this wall originally, and will look great.

The room will have natural wood floors (as opposed to stained wood), and the baseboards and door and window trim will receive a medium stain. The kitchen cabinets get a fairly dark stain.

For fun, click the photo to enlarge it, then click again at the point in the corner where the ceiling meets the green wall and the plastic-covered window to the right, and you’ll see the face of a cherub looking down at you from the crown molding.
