Around the World in 90+ Days

I’m Patrick Carroll, and following will be the account of my trip around the world with David and Linda Bowlin, aboard the world’s only active ocean liner, the Queen Mary 2 (which we call the QM2). I’ll point out that an ocean liner is not the same as a cruise ship. Ocean liners are built of much thicker steel, and made to sail the oceans continuously. Cruise ships are built to spend most of their time in calm coastal waters, more rarely venturing on “the big water.” Cruise ships sail around big storms at sea. Ocean liners sail right through the storms. The QM2 has “stabilizers” which assure a smooth ride even in rough seas.
